Camping at Ensign Ranch

This past weekend I went to a five stake young single adult camp out at Ensign Ranch. I must say that it was the perfect weekend to go camping, the weather was in the 80's for most of the time. I went with Nikki Wheelwright, Bobby Kaler, Danny Knechtel and JJ Knechtel. It was a lot of fun getting to spend some time actually hanging out with people rather than sitting at home, which is what I have done a lot lately because most of my friends are still in school. There was probably only about 60 people at the activity but it was still a ton of fun. Nikki and I decided that since it was a campout we wanted to sleep outside under the stars rather then in the cabins with the rest of the group. I have to admit I didn't sleep well that night...mostly because I had a strange fear that if I fell asleep a bear would eat me. I'm happy to say that did not happen and I was able to wake up the next morning alive and well. It was a bit awkward when we woke up because there were about 20 people standing around us waiting for breakfast who were staring at us...I'm pretty sure they were just jealous.

The rest of the day was spent having a fireside and testimony meeting, then heading off to a service project where we raked wood...I don't really know the purpose of it...but I guess it's always good to do service. Over at the area where we did the service project we found a rope swing that was also a lot of fun...just a little high off the ground...and since I'm slightly afraid of heights it was sort of scary..but not really. After the service project and lunch then the majority of the people left to go home...but we decided to go check out the water since it was very hot outside. We opted not to go to the lake for fear of leeches, so we drove down to where the river ran. The river was brown and very cold so I only got my feet in there before we all decided that it would be best to leave home. On the way home we stopped by North Bend which is always fun. The temperature there was 98 degrees...crazy. All in all it was a great way to spend the weekend enjoying the outdoors and having tons of fun!

That sounds way fun! Corine, Katie Gleed, and I went on a camp out just like that once and slept outside too. Mostly because I was sure that a mouse would eat me in the cabin....
