2 months!

Elizabeth is two months old today! Boy, time sure flies! I figure I should give an update of her likes/dislikes and such things...but she's just a baby, so I'm not sure she has too many of those yet. She really likes sitting upwards, she doesn't want to lay down unless she is eating or REALLY tired. She likes it when we sit her up so she can look around and see what's new. She has been talking and cooing a lot lately. It's really cute! We will talk to her and she talks right back like we are having a real conversation. Sometimes she apparently says really funny things because she will say her baby talk and then get a huge smile on her face and give a little laugh. She is having her two month appointment next week, I am not looking forward to shots! But I am excited to see how much she is growing (She is starting to grow out of a lot of her newborn clothes, 0-3 is still a little baggy...but they are cute).

In other news, Justin made his final decision of where he will be going to grad school. This fall he is going to be attending the University of Washington! I am so excited! Can't wait to go back home!

And Justin had a "decision day" video chat... Go UW

let's try some DIY

A friend told me the other day that I should try and make my own Moby Wrap to carry Elizabeth around in. After a quick Pinterest search I found a ton of tutorials which were, luckily, all super easy (pretty much just cut a really long strip of jersey stretch fabric)! Sweet! After heading to Walmart and finding some fabric for $1 a yard I thought I might as well try it out. I needed 5 yards, but only 20 inches wide, so I had a TON of extra fabric. I figured might as well find a project to use up the rest of the fabric, so I decided to try a maxi dress. Now I have close to zero sewing skills, but I found this little tutorial that wasn't too difficult. I will admit, I didn't actually hem the bottom, sleeves, or neckline, but the jersey fabric doesn't fray so I should be good (hopefully... I might add hems if it bugs me, but frankly stretchy fabric isn't fun to sew). I just need to figure out how to accessorize it a bit to avoid it looking like a potato sack.

So, for a total of $5 I now have a faux Moby wrap and a dress....sweet! The best part is I actually still have a ton of fabric left to use for something else...not that I have any other ideas of what I might do.

Justin even got to try it out! (need to work on how tight or loose to tie it)

oh...and another picture of Elizabeth from today, because I like her.

Elizabeth Eve

Elizabeth is almost 7 weeks old now! I can't believe it! She is so much fun to have around, I just love her.

She was born January 16, 2013 at 11:57 pm. We were all really expecting her to be born the morning of the 17th, but nope, she REALLY wanted to be born on the 16th, just in the knick of time!  She was 7 lbs 6oz and 20 inches long. She was in the NICU for about 12 days....but now she is out and healthy! I'm not sure exactly how big she is now...but I think she is around 10 lbs now. Some of her newborn clothes are too small now, and she is finally fitting into the 0-3 month clothes. She is so stinking adorable.

Here are some pictures of her from birth until now!
